  • 1 cup fresh strawberries chopped, optional
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 box vanilla or yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup unsalted butter melted
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Spread strawberry pie filling evenly on the bottom of the dish.
  3. Add chopped fresh strawberries on top (optional for extra flavor).
  4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the strawberries.
  6. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the entire surface (do not mix).
  7. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  8. Lightly drizzle milk across the top to help moisten the mix.
  9. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbly around the edges.
  10. Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Do not mix the layers—this is key to the dump cake texture.
  • Make sure butter is evenly distributed to avoid dry patches.
  • Use fresh strawberries for a more natural and vibrant flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Serve warm for a gooey dessert or chilled for a firmer cheesecake texture.
