Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic minced (optional)
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 green onions chopped (optional)
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet with onion and garlic (if using). Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer 10 minutes.
  4. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  5. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, sour cream, and green onions.
  6. Grease a 9x13 casserole dish. Layer half the noodles, all the cream cheese mixture, remaining noodles, meat sauce, then top with cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let rest before serving.

Notes

  • Make ahead: Assemble and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking.
  • Freezer-friendly: Wrap tightly and freeze unbaked for up to 2 months.
