Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Optional maple glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar + 2 tbsp maple syrup + 1 tbsp milk

Method
 

  1. Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg and maple syrup, mixing until smooth.
  3. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually mix into wet ingredients.
  4. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Scoop dough balls onto parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes.
  6. Let cool, then drizzle with glaze if desired.

Notes

  • Use dark brown sugar for a stronger molasses flavor.
  • Add chopped pecans or walnuts for crunch.
  • Chill dough longer for thicker cookies.
