Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound fresh asparagus trimmed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

  • Garlic powder
  • Lemon juice or zest
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes

Method
 

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and dry the asparagus thoroughly, then trim the woody ends.
  3. Place asparagus in a bowl and toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  4. Arrange asparagus in the air fryer basket in a mostly single layer.
  5. Cook for 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  6. Remove when tender with lightly crisped tips.
  7. Add optional toppings if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Dry asparagus completely before cooking for best crispness.
  • Avoid overcrowding the basket or the asparagus will steam.
  • Medium-thickness asparagus cooks best in the air fryer.
  • Reheat leftovers in the air fryer for 2–3 minutes to re-crisp.
